MY REVIEW

I dove right in as soon as For the Record showed up on my kindle. Having devoured every word of the first two books in the series, I was ready to lose myself in all things Brady Maxwell. Come on, who doesn’t want to get lost in a story about a powerful, rich, insanely good looking, successful guy that is also caring, alpha, and loves his parents.

It wasn’t just the romance or the hot sex scenes that drew me in (although, sweet Jesus, are there some raging hot ones). I am the daughter of a lifetime politician. My dad has held office in some capacity in my hometown since I could walk. In fact, he is the mayor right now. Granted, his political career is nothing like the main character’s in the book, but the feelings and the processes are the same. I have been a part of the craziness of a campaign and election day. I think that is why this series was so fascinating to me.

For the Record was the perfect ending to this series, in my opinion. We had seen in the previous books how Liz’s career affected Brady and his dreams. Not this time around. Boy how the tables were turned. I never thought about what would happen to Liz if she and Brady took their relationship public. I didn’t really think about her life at all I realized. I mean, how bad could her life be? She has sex – a lot of very hot, down and dirty sex – with possibly the perfect guy! And now he is telling the whole world! Life is sweet, right?

Boy, was I wrong. Kyla does a bang up job of showing what happens when you are involved with a politician. She really showed how the media can make or break you. The fact that Liz is now one of the people she would have written about only a year ago makes this book a page turner. To see how quickly she goes from the respected journalist to the home wrecking whore in the very papers she once wanted to work for was heartbreaking.

I loved that Kyla wrote such a strong female character in Liz. She didn’t lost in the shadow of Brady. She matched him step for step. Every obstacle only seemed to strengthen her resolve. The way she would go toe to toe with Brady if she disagreed with him was so awesome. Those parts were some of my favorite scenes.

Even better than their fights was their making up. Holy smokes! If the love scenes had been any hotter, I think the pages would’ve caught fire. I don’t know if it was the awesome writing or the fact that they were such a great couple out of the bed, but something made their sex scenes nuclear. So, in case you haven’t figured it out…I loved For the Record and I loved this whole series!

For the Record has the perfect balance of angst, heat, and sweetness. Now, if someone would put a bug in Kyla’s ear..she really needs to write Clay’s story. I have a feeling this bad boy’s book would rock our world!

I highly recommend this series from KA Linde. Off the Record (The Record Series Book 1) (book 1), On the Record (The Record Series Book 2)(book 2) and For the Record (The Record Series Book 3) (book 3) were all 4.5 Hookers books for me!

Brady. He was here. He had come to pick her up. A million emotions hit her all at once. Her heart ached as it pounded fiercely in her chest. She had missed him so much. The weeks had stretched interminably long.

She caught his eyes and her stomach flopped.

Without a thought for Victoria, Daniel, or her discarded bags, she dashed across the airport. She felt she was in a movie as she rushed toward the man she loved. When she reached him, she threw herself into his arms. Her body thudded against his chest and she pressed her face into his shoulder. His arms pulled her flush against him and he hoisted her up so that her feet tucked up behind her. He smelled unbelievably masculine and delicious. The strength in the embrace grounded her, and everything felt right in the world.

“Hey baby,” Brady whispered in her ear.
